Experiences using economic incentives to support the Platte River ecosystem
The Platte River Recovery Implementation Program (PRRIP) is one of the most successful large-scale ecosystem recovery programs in the United States. Created via a partnership among multiple states, federal and local agencies and groups, PRRIP continues to support endangered species (interior least tern, pallid sturgeon, piping plover, and whooping crane) dependent on the health of the Platte River ecosystem. The Program is managed considering the needs of all water stakeholders including agricultural and municipal water users.

Please join us on April 8th, 11:00 – 11:45 (Central) to learn how PRRIP is implementing different incentive-based water management projects to help meet the Program’s goals.

Presenters:
• Jason Farnsworth, PRRIP Executive Director, Headwaters Corporation
• George Oamek, PRRIP Economist, Headwaters Corporation
• Renata Rimsaite (host/moderator), Postdoctoral Research Associate, Water Markets Program Manager, DWFI, NDMC
